Orthopaedic
Locomotive syndrome is a new concept advocated by the Japanese Orthopaedic Association and is subject to long-term care. Various disorders of musculo-skeletal system such as femoral neck fracture, degenerative osteoarthritis, and lumbar spinal canal stenosis in the accompanying gross osteoporosis are known to result in the locomotive syndrome. In our department, we proactively handle prevention methods for these diseases. We also treat and operate in same cases osteoporotic fractures, and degenerated hip or knee joints. We cooperate with the department of rehabilitation for the preoperative and postoperative management.
